Aerial Pilates

Aerial Pilates combines yoga, Pilates, dance, and acrobatics using a silk hammock to enhance flexibility, strength, and balance while supporting deep stretches and spinal decompression.

A wellness-enhancing practice that combines traditional pilates techniques with suspended movements, promoting improved flexibility and strength through aerial engagement

Aerial Pilates, also known as Flying Pilates or Hammock Pilates, is a dynamic fusion of traditional Pilates exercises and Aerial element.

In Aerial Pilates, participants utilize a hammock hanging from the ceiling to support, assist and challenge their Pilates practice.

Benefits of Aerial Pilates

  • Core strengthening: Aerial Pilates targets the core muscles, including the abdominals, obliques, and lower back, resulting in improved core strength and stability.
  • Improved flexibility: The hammock allows for deeper stretches and increased range of motion, helping to release tension and improve flexibility throughout the body.
  • Enhanced balance and proprioception: Balancing in the hammock challenges stability and body awareness, leading to improved balance and coordination over time.
  • Spinal decompression: Inversions and traction techniques performed in Aerial Pilates help to decompress the spine, alleviate compression, and promote better posture and spinal health.
  • Stress relief and relaxation: The flowing movements and focus on breath in Aerial Pilates can calm the mind, reduce stress levels, and promote relaxation and mental well-being.
